vintageguns.co.uk was founded by  Diggory Hadoke, in 2006.

Diggory is a well-respected shooting journalist, whose articles and gun tests feature regularly in Sporting Shooter, Gun Mart and The Double Gun Journal. He is the author of ‘Vintage Guns for the Modern Shot’ (Merlin Unwin 2007) and was a contributing author to 'The Game Book', a compilation edited by Chris Catlin (Quiller 2007). Other writing projects underway include a definitive guide to the various types of boxlock made in the UK 'The Boxlock Gun and Rifle' between 1875 and 2007. Diggory is not a serious competitive shooter but he won the British side-by-side Championship in the 28-bore hammergun class in 2007 and usually holds his own in the field, despite arming himself with a motly collection of 19th century hammer guns, which do little to help consistency but do wonders for your adaptability. 

Diggory started vintageguns.co.uk because he was constantly being asked to report on guns at London auctions and wanted to simplify the process for his clients. The company has grown from these simple beginnings to encompass a whole range of services for the buyer, collector and owner of British double guns. The business has grown recently to incorporate a sporting agency for users of classic double guns, enabling like-minded shooters to enjoy their sport together.
